home24 taps Constructor to boost product search capabilities


Online retailer home24 is deploying technology from Constructor to provide a more feature-rich, intuitive and personalized experience via better search capabilities on its site as well as its mobile app.

So far the home and living retailer has seen double-digit growth in search conversion with the AI-based technology, according to a press release.

"We're committed to providing an outstanding experience to our shoppers across channels, and product search is a big part of that," Gianluca Randisi, VP of product, home24, said in the release. "Thanks to our work with Constructor, it's even easier for shoppers to search for — and find — the best items for them. Aside from the positive return on investment, we love the ease of use and hands-on support that come from working with Constructor."

home24 serves seven European markets, Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy, as well as Brazil. Through its product catalog and curated marketplace, the company offers hundreds of thousands of items, with more than 200,000 SKUs spanning furniture, tabletop accessories and more.

Prior to Constructor, it had been difficult for home24 to help shoppers to quickly and easily discover the items. Its online search solution had a limited number of fields for searchability, with shoppers unable to get results for specific, multi-part queries such as "bed without box spring" or "lamp with three bulbs." Shoppers also were unable to filter search results by attributes such as size, style, material, color and price.

Using clickstream behavioral data, AI and advanced machine-learning algorithms, Constructor's platform surfaces search results that are personalized to each shopper and their journey across channels, as well as optimized to home24's key performance indicators. Constructor also uses natural language processing to instantly infer intent, even from more complicated search queries, and makes it easy for home24 shoppers to filter results to find the right products faster.
